Birthing Center
At Hyper Care Regional Medical Cente, we believe that childbirth is a family experience. We make accommodations to be sure the family and friends you'd like to be there can share in the experience.
With its first class amenities, our state of the art center offers everything you would expect to find in a “big city” facility but with personalized individual care only a smaller facility can provide. The Birth Place at Hyper Care Regional Medical Cente is a birthing facility like no other in eastern Texas.
Remember that labor can be very overwhelming and emotional, and to provide the safest delivery it is best to limit visitors to only those there to provide support. We ask that you choose only two individuals to be present in the actual delivery.
Anyone sick or recently exposed (within the past three weeks) to an infectious disease (such as chicken pox) should not visit the Birthing Center.
Triage Area
There is limited space, so we ask that only one support person be by your side.
Labor and Deliver Room
No more than three visitors are allowed at a time. The staff may request that fewer visitors stay, depending on the conditions of your baby. Visitors also may be asked to step out if you'd like them to or to provide care.
During Delivery
Three visitors may be present at the time of your baby's birth.
Couplet Care
At The Birth Place, we practice couplet care, a model of caring that emphasizes mother and baby being cared for together, as a pair or “couplet,” during their entire hospital stay by the same nurse. Rooming in is highly encouraged for all healthy newborns. When mother and baby room together, your baby will know you are near by smelling your scent and hearing your voice. It also helps parents to quickly learn their baby’s sleep patterns, breathing, hunger cues and feeding schedule, and allows you to be a participant in all of your baby’s care, from the newborn bath to diapering and learning different comfort measures to calm your baby.
Rooming in also facilitates skin-to-skin contact, which helps newborns regulate their body temperature and glucose levels. Studies have shown that when babies room in with their mother they bond sooner, cry less, soothe more quickly, spend more time quietly sleeping, have greater breastfeeding success, maintain a more stable body temperature, and stay healthier.
Couplet care also means that all of your baby’s routine assessments and screenings will occur right in your room, allowing you the opportunity to ask questions and voice concerns.
